Nuno felting is a fabric felting technique developed around 1992. The name is derived from the Japanese word "nuno" meaning cloth. The technique bonds loose fibre, usually wool, into a sheer fabric such as silk gauze, creating a lightweight felt.

I use a variety of beautiful fibres including Merino and Corriedale wools, eri and mulberry silks, sari silks and other interesting textures and effects are blended into light silk chiffon fabric. The completed effect is a light and soft silk scarf, luxuriously blended with merino wool, and finished with further wool and silk fibres and embellishments.
